Does aluminum foil on windows really help keep interior cooler?
Discussion
Yes
Reflects heat.
No but it helps block the CIA satellites when you're on a 95 hour meth bender.
I would imagine so. Curtains would provide a similar effect
Tin foil curtains, totally agree.
It can do and it'd help keep heat in in the winter, but much better to get some thermal resistant material and use velcro to stick it around the windows.
If you are running windows a mounted fan and heatsink works best.
What if I just heave it into the ocean? Won't that keep it cool without the loud fan?
It's reflecting light so it almost certainly would prevent that window from adding heat to the interior. There may be more practical methods though 😂
Its so pleasing on the eyes
Yes.
Yes
Yes I used it once. However leaving it in too long leaves the window a whitish colour. I left mine in for over a year and window was fucked. Couldn’t get it off. I think the oxide impregnated the glass. Or some crazy chemical reaction.
