Nothing is forever. How big would a relay need to be to store everything forever?

You just made me think of something. If they reach capacity and start deleting does that mean all of the users' past posts just get deleted?

That would be my assumption. I don’t run a relay. Have not studied any of the specs. But I don’t know who would run a free relay and store more and more information at their expense. Paid relay maybe.

I heard even the paid ones have a limit. For example it'd be like 10000 Satoshi a month to store 10k of ur messages

So many on here have said stupid stuff like nostr is forever. Idiots. I like the app. Good conversations like this, but nothing is forever.

Yup all is finite haha. I think it's just more so the zealousness of being part of something new and having high hopes for it that starts to color people's language.

Which is not all too bad I guess

Hopes and dreams soon to be dashed on the rocks of reality. Have a great weekend.

Haha never heard that before. Love it!!

My zaps aren't going through to people fml. I tried to zap u for the cool quote lol are u on android? How do u get around this issue?

Nope. Damus on iPhone. Sounds like a network glitch. Thanks for the thought. It counts.

Well if it's just text and no media was stored It would probably take a while to fill up a relay take years for it to reach 10 megabytes

However, though this isn't just text images and videos can take up a lot of space really quickly
