The thing with tether is that half of the global south has already adopted it way ahead of bitcoin, but since it's dollar-linked, it's grows less useful the less useful dollars are.

We'd be smart to have them all using bitcoin underneath their tether so when they no longer want currency linked to the dollar, they've already got access to sats without changing wallets.

I get the UDST use case with the world. Running on a permissionless protocol will keep governments and their native fist in check but it’s also a signal that bitcoin isn’t being adopted the way we would hope but rather the reality of the dollar hegemony.

It’s a net win for the world just discouraging as a pleb who sees bitcoin as a currency and not just a store of value.

I'm not discouraged at all, mainly because I see the dollar not existing in a decade or two from now.
