After i was born at the Hilo hospital (after my mom went into labor while swimming at Kalapana beach) my parents hummed and hawed about what to call me (they wanted to make sure they saw me first, i guess); one of them really liked 'leah' and the other thought it was too simple so they put letters/sounds around it until they came up with what they liked. While i was ego surfing one time (rare), i saw there was a singer in Australia with the same name.
