Just flashy, fun, battles. Not exploring the depths of humanity, which is what I like about TNG. You could read TNG script like a book, you could not so that with SNW. But I get it, thats what sci fi is like nowadays.

mostly SNW is following the Original Series "monster of the week" thematically and just dipping into TNG social commentary

Yes, the character development is better than TNG. You had to wait years to get to know the TNG characters 😆
