I spend a lot of time just trying to send myself sats over Lightning. Lol

The noncustodial experience is dogshit. I wouldn't count on any of it as a replacement for my current fiat payment methods.

Using on chain is usually impractical, especially for many small payments.

I don't see the point if I'm just using centralized Lightning services anyway. I'm better off saving the fees/tax accounting headaches by just spending fiat.

I know this is unpopular and inconsistent with the hype, but I'm being honest.

Noncustodial Lightning sucks. eCash has been an even worse experience.

I'm sure things will improve, but there are far too many people kidding themselves. This shit would be a nightmare for merchants and customers if it were actually used broadly in a noncustodial way.

non custodial LN sucks most of the time, explaining someone channel management will seem ridiculous to anyone. There are a few good wallets like Phoenix, Zeus and Bitkit to name a few. Custodial on the other hand i would say its better than traditional payments, Right now paying something online that is not LN is a pain for me.

I agree they are better IF you don't give a damn about the tax tracking. But even if you don't, you can't exactly hide it so well using a custodial KYC service. That is a lot of extra work on my end for no real benefit. At least not for me right now.

yeah i get that. I dont report any of that, most of my spendings are small, and to most i use one of those wallets, but i also use strike.
