Saint Sava the Goth refused to eat meat sacrificed to pagan gods during a Christian persecution in fourth-century Romania. Arrested with other Christians, he confessed his faith openly. When the judge threatened him with torture, Sava welcomed it, unafraid of death for Christ. The judge, surprised by his courage, ordered his release, thinking him harmless. However, when Sava fearlessly rejoined the other Christians, the judge ordered him to be drowned in the Musæus River. As he entered the water, Sava rejoiced, eager to be cleansed by his martyrdom.

O Holy #Martyr Sava, intercede for us that we may have such faith and courage. #Saints #OrthodoxChristian #Prayer #Romania #Faith
