I've not shot or handled a SCAR. I have some issues with the design and the recoil impulse is deadly to many optics, so, it's just really expensive. I think there are better options to build an AR10-style rifle chambered in 6.5CM or, I might be pursuaded to buy a Robinson And XCR-M chambered in that, plus you can get quick change barrels for many other calibers.

I hope that's a little bit helpful.

Very helpful. I’ve always preferred the AK platform to the AR, but wish there were more calibers available in the AK platform. I’ve avoided semi-automatic everything for many years preferring revolvers and lever actions for reliability reasons, but increasingly I’m thinking it’s time to have a tactical medium range and long range assault rifle and a pallet of ammo for each. Maybe .300 blackout subsonic with suppressor/thermal optics and 6.5 CM with a 6x-9x. The 6.8 cartridges are interesting no?

If you like AKs, 300blk is a really good round. Also, the Robinson Arms rifles are part AK, too. Really interesting design.

I kinda get the reliability thing, but, modern self-loading stuff is pretty darn reliable and accurate. And, you do get expanded capabilities over more traditional choices. Your reasoning is very sound. It will be interesting to see what you come up with.
