I have the Primal app , but how do I get a lightning wallet address and verified nostr address?
Do I make those up myself or are they assigned to me somehow?

Man, this is part of the onboarding I do regret. Wish I could point you to a self custodial solution with an LSP like we got with Phoenix, but most people use a custodian such as alby or in my case stacker.news
For stacker.news for example its username@website for your lightning address so in my case nerd2ninja@stacker.news and you know I'm not a primal user, but probably in your profile you enter that for your "LNURL"

Alby Wallet is somewhat easy to setup but don’t put all your sats there, get a self custody wallet like Phoenix when you are more comfortable.
You can get a lightning address with Wallet of Satoshi (outside US).
For a nostr address you can use many services, a free one I made myself is https://zaps.lol :)
