Actually no, here in germany it’s usually that you have to go to school for at least 9 years, it’s law, compulsory schooling
Okay, who decides what they will teach in school?

There is a curriculum that includes general knowledge in different parts. It’s a great variety so you get a little bit of everything. Learning the basics in elementary school is not that bad, but especially when the kids get older it feels like it’s not supporting their potential very much right now.
Education could be more free & fun. I think the idea to build a place where people put their minds together to serve knowledge to the younger ones is good, together we can teach each other much better!
But we have no control on the specific needs of everyone or what exactly is teached. Instead you have to follow strictly so you’re not being left behind, loosing. 🫣
