Some fuckhead could make an account on your Lemmy instance, upload his entire CSAM picture stash by just c/p'ing into a new post window, never actually save the post and just distribute the picture URLs to his friends. Congratulations, you're now distributing CSAM and you have no idea it's happening.

Similarly, some shitter on another instance could post some dodgy shit and your instance will conveniently cache a local copy of it, which may or may not be removed when the offending post is deleted.
