I see in the Sounds tab there is a “Ringtones and Alerts Volume” bar
I have my AirPods connected, but when I slide the bar, it plays out of my phone’s speaker… Uhmmm…?

Could be! I’ve never tried them, I’ve only fairly recently figured out that I was using earbuds with wrong size eartips, which was a huge upgrade there haha
Eartips make such a difference. I actually recommend eartips, which take the form of your own ear, so they are actually tailored for you 💜

Lock the ringer and alert volumes in Settings
-Go to Settings
-Tap Sounds & Haptics (on supported models) or Sounds (on other iPhone models).
-Turn off/on Change with Buttons.
