Do you know what I hate more than logging in somewhere with an email and a password?
When somewhere logs me out for no reason, you know, just after a while, and I need to reenter the whole thing again.

I am an untrusted party everywhere I go and have to go through logins, 2FA, captchas, cloudflare check boxes, etc every time. Maybe not logins if the app trusts my auth token long-term.
Yes, it's the worst!
Any place that requires a phone number to get a code, I've started avoiding.
1, I've gone between Sweden and America for the last well 15 years now, so my Swedish number is only in effect some parts of the year, and since moving here, my phone has been on flight mode!
2. It's not actually safer, you're just giving hackers another way to access my stuff.
3. It's super annoying.
And like you said, it's annoying enough to just need to use an email and password that logs you out. To add the phone code is just another hurdle.
