I don't generally see a problem with them as long as whoever's using them understands that in a fire you will definitely lose that private key.

It's probably not the best for super long-term storage, but for a short to mid-term way of storing your private keys and stacking corn, it's not horrible. I've used plenty of paper wallets in the past myself Either as a way as to gift Bitcoin or to store some of my own.
