Goes much deeper than that. The entire social system of this country is entirely broken (for nationals). There is just too much of it to put it all into one note. Hence, I plan to do a very long long-form on this topic over the weekend. It's not just utilities, it's health insurance, jobs, dentals, you name it. everyone and their dog can collect tens-of-thousands of EUR from the German government right now (and they do) just not nationals.
