Interesting from an American perspective. Considering the genre of metal was invented here. Check out Last days here (2011) about the band pentagram. Metal bands were basically pop hippie bands that sucked too hard to get popular. Also heroin in the 70s. Lots of good original stuff from the time tho, Universe, Wicked Lady. The 70s were crap.

Iβm talking about the first metal bands. From 1970 on. Again I refer you to the movie Last days here (2011). Black metal was in the 90s after Venom, But the most famous were those church burning Norwegians. The 80s and 90s of βmetalβ in America was guns n roses to nirvana. White trash hollywood to grunge Seattle. At least the Norwegian guys were living it not just for fame.
