If you have Gmail it is shockingly easy to forward your emails to Proton (ideally to an alias) and have Gmail delete its copy.

Of course this is not perfect. But helps slowly and incrementally improve security and privacy. It’s not all or nothing. If we can convince lots of people to take baby steps society can improve a lot over time.
