A powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Japan, prompting a tsunami warning.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicenter was located east of Aomori Prefecture in northern Japan, with tremors reportedly felt as far away as Tokyo.

A tsunami warning of up to three meters was issued for the eastern and northeastern coasts, and residents in coastal areas were urged to evacuate immediately.
