At no point in history have we looked back at the men who were censoring speech and say,

‘Those were the good guys.’

We say the US / UK were the good guys in world war 2.

We say the union were the good guys in the US civil war.

Those two are just off the top of my head. The thing is these good guys are often remembered as such because they won and got to control the narrative of history.

…I wonder if those may be examples of the slow rot of leadership by corruption over the long arc of time when the history of the decline of western hegemony is written🤔
