Bugonia is a 2025 sci-fi/crime film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Two conspiracy theorists kidnap the CEO of a pharmaceutical company. They’re convinced she’s an Alien sent to earth to prepare its annihilation. They interrogate her in a remote location. Lines start to blur between delusion and truth. Themes of corporate greed and existential dread are present throughout the movie. The movie was very entertaining. As the movie progresses, it’s hard to tell if the CEO is an alien or not. The casting was great. Emma Stone and Jessie Plemmons were very convincing. I would definitely watch this one again. 7.9/10
