From AI: Safe Crypto Wallets to Memorize Seed Phrases

It is not safe to memorize the seed phrase for any crypto wallet. While memorization is a possible method, it is considered highly risky and is not recommended by security experts. The primary reason is that people are prone to forgetting information, especially complex sequences like a 12 or 24-word seed phrase, particularly if they manage multiple wallets. Forgetting the seed phrase means permanent loss of access to the associated cryptocurrency, as there is no recovery option provided by the wallet or platform. The security of a seed phrase relies on its secrecy and the ability to retrieve it when needed, which memorization cannot reliably guarantee. Therefore, the safest practice is to write down the seed phrase on paper and store it in secure, offline locations, such as a safe or a safe deposit box.

Not to paper. It should be carved to a metal plate - there are specialized plates to this purpose.

Or you can tattooing them onto your different body parts, so only you will know the sequence 😁

I once had a crypto wallet whose seed phrase was on a sheet of paper I kept in my wallet one day I washed my jeans with my wallet in it. I kid you not this really happened.

I did recover that wallet it took a long time. I carefully dried the sheet of paper once it was dried I very, very carefully unfolded it. It happened that one of the creases was right along a line of six words, and I carefully reconstructed what those six words were.

You were lucky.

But imagine that time, when HDwallet didnt exist, so you could have had to memorize a long hexadecimal or alphanumerical sequence.

Better yet: memorize your seed AND keep a secured hard copy just in case.

Genius! I view the scenario of the FBI comes to raid your house. I don’t want them to be able to find my seed phrase, but after they leave, and take me away to a jail for 10 years, I want to be able to come back buy a new hardware, wallet, and gain access to my funds again.
