I saw a film a few months ago and CANNOT remember the title nor can I find it anywhere thru searches. It's killing me b/c I want to show it to someone. Pretty sure I saw it on Criterion channel.

Here's what I know:

Released in the late 2010s. One word title.

Plot: A group of construction workers from either Germany or Russia take a contract in a remote mountainous region of Europe (Bulgaria? Romania?) and encounter language differences and aggression from locals.

The protagonist is quiet, observant and honorable. He ingratiates himself with the locals and, tames a wild horse which dies by the stupidity and arrogance of his boss.
