I got my dad on-boarded to simplex this afternoon while we were having a lazy, pleasant lunch. We've been using signal for family chatting, but I'm going to be moving the rest of my family over to simplex as it gets better and as I get more suspicious of signal's integrity.

I've had them on since before the lockdowns really hit. I explained that signal is much more vulnerable to influence, and I think can more easily be compromised since it is both tied to your number and also fairly centralized. If I can convince my dad, my mom will be annoyed but capitulate. My sister, however... She might just be too annoyed to want to, but if I can convince my BIL, she'll just have to come along for family chat.
