Since I was smart and participated in the Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) program when it was offered at our airline, I have a .45, 3 magazines and a belt in my overnight bag. I strap up, and throw my bag over in the bed with whatever hotel room amenities I can fit. Matches, TP, soap, a couple of complimentary water bottles, a towel, and washcloth. I stash my dress shoes in the bag and zip on my steel toed Original Swat boots
I check satellite service on my phone to see if I can establish text comms with my wife and my eldest son to go over a tentative plan and see what they know. If comms are a success, I get moving.
I proceed to the lobby with my head on a swivel to see if I can get a handle on the situation, knowing that as a law enforcement officer deputized by Homeland Security, I can commandeer a vehicle if needed.
A lot of my next moves are dictated by what I learn when I make first contact with people in the lobby.
