Didn't you say you lived in Reno or somewhere in NV? I'm in Boise. The EG4 batteries are from signature solar. I follow a guy named Will prowse on YouTube and he's very knowledgeable in solar and the components. He tears apart batteries and these seem pretty robust. Mine have the built-in heaters so they can charge in freezing temperatures if needed. I keep this unit heated all winter using the wood stove. It's very well insulated and would take days to freeze

That's interesting, I'll take a look at his channel as my wife and I are looking at building a tiny home within the next few years.
