Using H.265 (HEVC) can be a problem for Linux users because many distros don’t ship hardware/software support by default due to patent/licensing issues. Users often need to install extra codecs or pay attention to whether their GPU supports hardware decoding. Without that, playback can be CPU-heavy, choppy, or just not work.
