Shows like the bachelor and bachelorette just reinforce stereotypes that pretty people don't have to be smart or interesting because they're pretty. How do they reinforce it? Well they're not exactly changing the formula up. None of them are ever even remotely interesting and if they're intelligent it's downplayed so as not to scare viewers off.
