Ok, I am, obviously, a complete idiot. Trying to set up a Strike acct. Provided an email, and got in. But the app makes absolutely no sense to me. Is there a tutorial somewhere? nostr:nprofile1qqsvf646uxlreajhhsv9tms9u6w7nuzeedaqty38z69cpwyhv89ufcqpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucm4wfex2mn59en8j6gpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqg5waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxgctdw4eju6t0t25cfd

What part are you trying to understand? I've been using it for a few years now and can try to help.

What’s the goal?

What is a strike 'power' user?

I use strike a lot for a long time

Always happy to help if you have any questions. It’s my KYC of choice, but I get it. It’s sleek but not very explanatory

At least Strike won’t give you a hard time sending off your sats to cold. River was a different experience 🙄

Definitely not explanatory. Have no idea where to go to do what.

I’ll assume you’ve signed up. Did you get a payment method setup?

Not yet, starting a new bank acct on Friday, because current one is shit. Won't be able to do til then.

Maybe it’ll make more sense once you get that connected the but for the meantime here’s the 411:

So the two top buttons really are buy and sell.

You hit buy and it takes you to a screen where you can type in either how much you want to pay in dollars or specifically how many sats you want using the top-right button on the left.

And to see the screen here for all purchase types, hit the button in the top right on the right of the Buy screen.

This is where you can switch to DCA payments or target price buys.

I make all my money in Sats already. I am looking to set it up to take a loan against some of it, because I need a vehicle. Last one gave out, and don't want to sell any corn, if I can help it.

Oh that! You just hit the cash tab at the bottom right, and then there’s a big section that says bitcoin backed loans. You just need to scroll down a touch:

I am guessing that I won't get that tab until I set up PYMT method?

I’d assume that if you aren’t seeing it yet, that could be the only reason why.

The interest rate decreases the larger the loan you’re looking for, but these are the smallest options for either monthly payments or payments at maturity.

10k is the minimum you can borrow? Does that trigger the SAR if deposited in your bank account?

At this point just assume everything does.

I mean, I assume everything you do on a Bitcoin KYC exchange is heavily monitored.

Yes, that’s the minimum amount which has lowered at least from when I first checked it out.

But no, I don’t think that it would trigger as illicit activity or anything. I’m sure Mallers is on top of all the AML policies he has to abide by.

That said, If you have decent credit and some fiat flow, you might find a lower APR with a bank on just a personal loan. And then your Bitcoin will be more private and at your disposal throughout the repayment.

Never used the sell option, so i can’t help there.🤙🏻

But then below Buy and Sell, you will see two buttons that say Send and Receive. This functions about like any Lightning wallet more or less.

With the Receice button you can scan QR codes, make a general Ln Invoice or a specific one, or receive from a friend on Strike. You can even make an invoice to receive onchain.

With the Send button, it’s pretty much just QR code or paste a lightning invoice or wallet address from your clipboard. Or send to a Strike user.

Luna Node has a pretty good BYCPay Server option for self hosting https://www.lunanode.com/guides/btcpay

No custodial tradeoffs but you got to manage which does suck with LN.
