Most sane thing to do .. just trash your sim ... live on Google voice or some voip for few months .. train your mind that phone number has outlived its utility .. it really has ..
If you must have a sim all the time ..say for work / maps etc .. put it in a big ass tablet .. create friction..
I don't think Google voice is a great solution because it's google

It is NOT a solution - it is the exit strategy - gradual reduction of pain v/s going cold turkey 😑
But google is google. Try a jabber voip provider, there is like one left that doesn't require KYC to get a number. I feel that "loophole" will be taken out soon enough though
