Idk if you tried loading some emulators. Lack of indie games / original clean games on Android is compensated with access to basically any other console title. I managed to load a PS2 emulator on my phone and play PS2 games.

Pokemon Gameboy games are also a classic. But that's available on iOS too

Pair that with a Bluetooth controller and it's goated.

Performance with emulators vary though.
