What’s the good, bad, what do you like, what don’t you like, any problems so far, how long been using
Have been using since 2020, it has been generally very good. 5 authorized devices per individual account.
Just recently I had to delete my phone as a device and re-add for some reason, but that’s the main issue, other than on the phone app it seems to have to hop more often than on my ethernet connected pc.
Payment used to be automatic, now it is only manual (so they hold less data, a net positive for privacy). Lightning payment option now.

Best set-up is to go router level VPN for your home network.
Use a based router like Flint 2.0 made by GL.iNet and it's integration is seemless.

I also have hops on. Is there connection locations I should be staying away from?
If you're gonna use hops, might as well use Tor IMHO. I don't see the point otherwise since Mullvad is running the servers. Seems like an increase in latency for not much benefit.
As for locations to stay away from, no idea. Rule of thumb is latency shoooould be better if the location is as close as possible. So for me that's Hong Kong or Singapore. But the Great Firewall of China fukcs things up so that my latency is generally trash. I actually route my home through Switzerland.
