Our nostr:npub1rg3adrxmz357cy540xplsz89v232l64wz7utp640zv0qhp98339qt2d3r2 sponsored 'Verify the Planet' initiative has now come to a close.

Thanks to the PoW our Shadowy Supertaggers put in, we managed to:

1) Completely clear the legacy `currency:bitcoin` locations (either removing or updating them.

2) Get around 80% of the current 8,353 locations verified within the last year (average verification age is now around 180 days and falling).

Compare this situation to just 12-months ago when we had a pretty ugly dataset that nobody trusted.

What an achievement!

OK, so on to the prizes ...

Phenomenal work by the team over the last 12-months.

Lots of grind has gone into making BTC Map what it is today.

Can I ask why only 5 out of 10 people in the TOP10 in the original leaderboard at https://btcmap.org/leaderboard #geyser are rewarded? Have you done any background activity check on each participant?

Hey, yep we looked at edits as some are general OSM bots or mass edits not related to bitcoin.

We discounted yours as they are related to Qerko, which have recently had a large changeset reverted. We're not sure if the edits will remain unchallenged at the moment.

Happy to review at a later date once the Qerko data settles. 🤟
