I dunno what you're trying to do, but you could run a Fren relay, with an npub that only follows your required group of people.

No updates means it works. Why update?
As a haven and wot-relay user, I've seen plenty of updates for these and would just assume that fren also would need fixes? You have had updates to khatru and eventstore that this uses.
Iām probably spinning one on my start9 just for OxChat but we start to see the importance of different relays as different client use cases are introduced.
Decentralization for the win.
