The 16-30 numbers, which covers almost everyone coming over the border.

It's almost all young men.

🤣🤣🤣

That's why whole groups of them will stop on the street and just stare at women. Drives me nuts.

Dude legit tried to sniff me at the gas station, yesterday.

Hello? Personal space?

#m=image%2Fjpeg&dim=187x269&blurhash=%5E4B%7CB8%7Eq0zT1q%5D-TH%3BMd4.X9wdxW00In-%3AM_-%3Bo%2301tkxaM_%25fNI_Noewdxv9ZR-.S%25M%24%25%252IpM%7B0JRQ-%3B%252RPkVouIU%25Ks%3AR.R%25%7EWRjIAIUM%7Boz&x=4c57916b308c9328c368eb2056e675a960245f62c871a6bebfdd0517f6c1581b

Personal space do not apply to women where they come from.

I think I get an inordinate amount of that strange behavior because I look like I'm from Afghanistan or something.

That's what they tell me, anyway.

I don't get the open hostility or harrassment Germanic women sometimes receive, but weird stuff like that.

Or they turn around after they've passed and then walk past me really fast and then turn around and approach me again, more slowly. Happened to me, on Wednesday, on my long walk home from the bus. Just wanted another stare. 🙄

Creeps me out when they're biking past and suddenly slam on the brakes and walk the bike backward.

Especially, if it's an e-bike and you can legit hear the tires squealing behind you.

They all get free e-bikes, to keep them off the buses. LOL

Also, I'm short. Most German women probably tower over them.

Some of them are even shorter than I am!

It was so weird, cuz I was texting my bros and looking around at the scenery from the bike path and not really paying attention and he zooms past and I'm like deja vu, all over again.

Isn't this the same dude? 🤔

riiiight

I think it's the opposite. They're not used to having so many women within reach, just wandering around by themselves.

we know nothing ab the guy, we can only assume eh

A lot of them talk to me, actually. Want to know where I'm from and if I'm married and stuff. They are very open.

I'm a migrant, myself.

oh nice. u ask them all that then

same

You're in Germany, too?

Are you in northern Germany or southern?

the Netherlands, mi neighbour 😁

Ah, then you're not a migrant, from our point of view, just a foreigner. That was confusing.

We use "migrant" to denote people who moved to Germany or have at least one parent who is not a German citizen at birth.

I guess you could be a migrant, from the Dutch point of view, but I don't know how they measure that.

we call that (second generation) immigrant (it me)

or at least, we used to call it that.. the central bureau of statistics now say "person with migrationbackground" bc of some reason i cannot recall since 5 years or so

but i think u mean to you im a foreigner bc not from germany? is that what u meant.. confused now too 😂

Yes, that's what I meant. 😂 This is confusing.

Everyone in the Netherlands is just a foreigner to me. Unless they're a German ex-pat.

If you moved to Germany, then you'd be a "migrant from the Netherlands".

I guess I think very Germany-centric. 🤔

naturally lol

Ah, they probably changed it to match Germany. We call it "Mensch mit Migrationshintergrund".

Actually has little to do directly with ethnicity, which tends to confuse people.

It's not some sort of way to tell who the ethnic Germans are. We have no measure for that.

But, looking around at my childrens' age group, it must be a minority. They don't count. Most of their friends and schoolmates don't count...

It's actually more the case that lots of "migrants" are now essentially lumped in with "bio Germans". So, the definition is expanding, to continue to encompass a majority.

Same way Americans are redefining "white".

ye it becomes kinda meaningless to define someone as migrant after a couple generations deep

idk if it's comparable, ethnicity vs nationality

well eventually they merge and it then depends on who writes the history books what bc og or not i guess

bc=becomes

It's very fuzzy logic.

People have always moved around a lot and the borders have shifted.

i forgot race in the equation btw just wanted to add that for that extra layer of complexity

conceptualising man

Geez 🫥

At first, I thought he had a cold or a coke habit, or something, but he kept inching forward at the register line and it was like
