If this is the case, why do half the apps I want to use not integrate with Amber and act like it's some huge feature lift to implement?

Yeah, I don't get it too. NIP-55 is not hard. It's easier than writing the login screens (and secure database) for the nsec.

Good to hear. This is one of the main reasons I don't use more apps in the Nostr ecosystem. No Amber support is a no go.
