It's the worst Bible translation, other than all the other ones.
Modern scholarship doesn't approach the Bible faithfully and tries to explain a lot of stuff away based on an imposed agenda. KJV is hard to read, but at least it comes from a believing culture, so is going to be closer to the original intent.
That said, KJV-only people are fanatics.
I have learned to enjoy ESV adjacent to MSG when needed for some context. Could not recommend MSG alone.
