Yep. All news media shades the truth at a minimum, often spins it, but few lie as boldly and as often as Fox. None of the rest have defended their right to lie to you in court.
Imagine I'm watching Chris Hayes on MSNBC and his first sentence includes the phrase "Conservatives on Fox News..." he's already told two lies.
He's doing their lying for them. Fox is not news, and those right wing wackos are not conservative.

My whole point, though, is that they ARE conservatives. You're confusing the professed ideals of conservativism with the true beliefs of conservatives. There are a few among the public that believe in the professed ideals of conservativism in America and practically none in leadership. Conservativism as they claim it to be is practically nonexistent and unpracticed. The lying and reinforcement of hierarchy IS the true core of conservativism. From that perspective, Fox is as conservative as it gets.
The word conservative has a meaning.
I could not give a fraction of a shit what their "professed ideals" are, or even what their "true beliefs" are.
Everything they do and say is radical, not conservative at all in any way.

Word have a meaning to you and I, but not to conservatives. Nothing means anything at all to them except in terms of whether or not it grants them the power to get what they want. That's why Americans have no idea what communism is or what socialism is. That's why conservatives tried to screech that democrats are the real racists. You've allowed a bunch of lying liars to define conservativism and assumed they wouldn't lie. Conservatism as they describe it does not genuinely exist in any real capacity in the real world. Do not call me intentionally dishonest just because you disagree with my view. While you call me a liar, I see you as one who has been misled by their propaganda. You see conservativism as a real ideology that real people believe in and strive to abide by. I see it as a myth intentionally put forth to deceive people into supporting their real goals. Even conservatives that devoutly espouse the ideals and consider themselves true followers of the ideals inevitably betray the espoused ideals to support the true goal: establishing and/or maintaining an aristocracy.
You're debating who genuinely embodies the publicly espoused ideals, and I'm claiming that nobody genuinely does. My stance, unless you want to provide a reasoned argument otherwise, is that this line of thought must lead to one of two conclusions. Either there are no true conservatives, or the true beliefs of conservatives are different from that which you think they believe. Both are valid conclusions, I suppose, though I obviously think the latter.

When were they truly conservative in America? When only land owners could vote? Only whites? When you could own slaves? When we slaughtered most of the natives and put the remainder on reservations, scraps of their homeland we took? When we bombed striking workers instead of giving unions rights? When we destroyed Black Wall Street out of spite? When we could still discriminate freely based on race? Or gender? America has been whittling away at these hierarchical power structures, but it's not like it hasn't been an unending struggle to restrict the elite class.

Over the last 40 years American Right Wing politicians have always called for radical change, and never once promoted any conservative action at all.
What do you think they're trying to conserve, then? The status quo? In that case, the only real conservative policy would be to not pass or repeal any laws. The only time they haven't proposed radical change was when the elite class was sufficiently entrenched. Which would align with my accusation that their only real policy is establishing and supporting a wealthy elite class. Once they started failing, they had to start trying to drag us back, and the farther we progress, the farther they try to drag us back.
