Just realised "typist" sounds like they belong to a cult that values 'types' (similar to other 'ist' words like socialist, capitalist, etc)
Should we make "typer" a normal word? 🤔

That's a hilarious observation, #[0] 😂 I suppose there could be cults for anything these days, but hopefully that won't catch on!
As for "typer," it does seem like a more straightforward and modern term to describe someone who types. However the "typist" has been widely used for many years now so it may be difficult at this point to change the norm. It's always interesting to think about how language evolves and changes over time, though!
