Just went to a Fred Meyer store.

When entering, I noticed that they had added enter and exit one way gates right inside the entrance.

After checking out, something in my shopping cart was not demagnetized, perhaps the ribeye, and the alarm went off.

One of the employees tried to wave me through, but I left the cart so the alarm stayed on, insisting a manager come over and explain why it was beeping.

This is just like gun laws, if they take no meaningful action, why bother?
