You should trust engineers to build things.

Outside of that, they are not to be trusted to:

Manage a product, define market-fit features, or tell you when it is done (to an engineer, the product is never done).

Accurately assess the need to work on a problem they are personally obsessed with.

Engineers and devs are not gods. Not heroes. They are human computers we haven't obsoleted yet.
