Newbie question, but what’s the best way to transfer fiat to lightning wallets in Canada?

I know I can transfer Bitcoin from an on chain wallet to a lightning wallet, but is there a way to fund lightning wallets directly?

For example, in the US I think you can use a credit card to top up lightning wallets on primal? Anything similar in Canada?

👀 I’ve never considered this - or noted it as an available function in the apps I’ve used.

Isnt strike available in Canada? You can buy directly on Strike.

There's also coinbase and cashapp.

Now, if you're asking for non-kyc that's different. Slimmer pickings there but I think hodl hodl has lightning functionality.

Strike is not available in Canada. 👎

aHH fuey!

Yes, our benevolent government wants to protect us by now allowing any of these apps like Strike, Venmo, etc. lol

Would you be against using coinbase? You can just buy there and immediately send out via lightning

For non KYC use robosats, If your not concerned about KYC you can use Bull Bitcoin, transfer fiat to Bull Bitcoin account and they support lightning so your buy will be set directly to you Lightning wallet they do not custody funds so all purchases either on chain or lightning require a receiving address. On second thought Kraken supports lightning too and they have lower fees/spread them Bill Bitcoin. But Bull is Bitcoin only and doesn’t custody so chose your poison I guess 🤷‍♂️

Thanks! I’m not opposed to KYC, but I’m just looking to get a small amount (<$100) for random expenses, without triggering theoretical tax implications for my main stack. I never tried robosats but will give it a try.

I heard it’s down right now but otherwise it’s awesome

Bitcoin well?
