Being a patriot is inevitably an exercise in exclusion.

I proudly am not, or at least strive.

That it is. And same here. Ironically, it was the military that made me lean towards this line of thought.

And, yes, I agree. It would be better to just rid ourselves of borders and let life run it's course.

Tall people can only exist, if there also also short people.

Women can only exist, if there are also men.

Carnivores can only exist, if there are people who eat something other than meat.
