"Competitor" is probably a better description. Less judgmental. Less emotional 👍

At this level all three (China and Russia *and* the US) probably count as evil but it's sort of irrelevant. What matters is alignment of the values (even if superfluous) and the West is more on the same side with the US than China or Russia. They have different mental models and different moralities. Therefore I am concerned with the US giving the field away so easily

But well. It happens already and we can only watch it as it's unfolding

Not sure the wests values are all good. I think a pullback to focus on america first, pulling resources back will be beneficial to regaining focus and increasing our competitiveness. Something that has been handed over to China for cost savings. Only time will tell.

But People Saving Costs are in charge now. I also don't think it's an either/or situation. Rebuilding infrastructure for production and training people is something that's estimated to even take 5 to 10 years and it's better done with a solid plan. They don't have plan. In other words I'm sceptical. But as I said it's happening so let's observe

Government never has a plan. And people are usually most of the cost. So they are what needs to be cut.

This does not compute. Bringing production to the States means higher costs of production (especially with deportations where the citizens will call for more money). How do they imagine that?
