The U.S. Coast Guard has called off a Search-and-Rescue Operation launched last week for a then Unnamed Coast Guardsman, who was believed to have fallen overboard from the Legend-Class National Security Cutter, USCGC Waesche (WMSL-751), last Tuesday while conducted Counter-Narcotics Operations roughly 300 Miles off the Western Coast of Mexico and Guatemala. The Coast Guardsman who was lost has been identified as 23-Year-Old Seaman Bryan K. Lee from Rancho Cordova, California. The Search-and-Rescue Operation for Seaman Lee was extensive, covering nearly 19,000-Square-Nautical-Miles of the Eastern Pacific, involving a Mexican Navy Ship and Maritime Patrol Aircraft; 2 U.S. Customs and Border Protection Dash-8 Aircraft; a C-130 Hercules from the Air Force's 39th Rescue Squadron; a C-130 Hercules from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak in Alaska; and the Waesche's own Drone and MH-65E “Dolphin” Helicopter.
