I know what you mean, but I believe that the USA were just a tool used by the people who own most of the Capital in the world. And it has lost most of its value, i.e. it was exploited very much and there's not much left.
So, I believe they discard this tool, by exploiting it to the end.
But they keep on exploiting people in the whole world, but with other tools.
On the bright side, the biggest problem with the USA was its unbalanced power, which has now changed. So it cannot go on violating whomever they want, without consequences.
The word was misused a lot, but this looks like a "new world order" i.e. multi-polarity.
I have a different feeling. He was installed as a last hail mary attempt to change the course of developments and alignments. The docturine the neocon/lobbies have is, "change through terrorism". If that doesnt work retreat into "mad men theory" (CIA came up with this tactic in the cold war, behave irrationally insane to stop aggression from a sane competitor, like readying nukes offensively for example)
