Bobby, this is a very bold initiative but holding 1% reserve of hard currencies is not backing the dollar.

Backing with Bitcoin or other hard currencies of unforgeable costliness means every dollar is backed and redeemable for underlying asset. If underlying asset is bitcoin, then we're going to need proof of reserves that anyone running a node can verify.

I know you're an avid reader. When you find time, I recommend reading Nick Szabo's "Shelling Out: The Origins of Money", which explains the concept of unforgeable costliness
