Easy:

20" 12G Mossberg 590 with a 7 round tube loaded with 1oz rifled slugs

Slightly more:

1 AR15 per adult, minimum 10 loaded mags per AR15, plus a boatload of training ammo.

Even more:

Full sized side arm with at least 15+1 capacity of 9mm on a battle belt with first aid, light, tourniquet, knife, EMT shears, two pistol mags and maybe two rifle mags depending on your girth.

At least 1000 rounds of legit defensive ammo per firearm, though, you don't tend to need that much for the shotgun.

But always first aid, always with training, always with dry fire practice.

Also, as a side note, fighting with a shotgun is easy but also very hard to master. Pump shotguns are exceptionally reliable, powerful, versatile tools, but, you must know how to run then. In truth, an AR15 is really the simplest, best tool for most jobs of self defense, but, it's much more expensive than a used Mossberg (I only recommend Mossberg 590s or 590A1s drive Remington has gone to complete crap after the mess that recently happened. A used 870 that was made before everything went to pop is a fine option, but, I prefer the ergos of the 590 UNLESS you want a pistol grip, but I don't recommend that in most cases)
