I always tell the truth when asked by those close to me, however I can't be bothered to talk to the general public about commonly held opinions, usually just bad for business. I am shocked by how casually the masses can change their opinions once it is "allowed" though.
The masses don't actually have opinions. They're just parrots.
I disdain the parrots, it is enough to make one feel crazy, which is probably the point.
Just don't take it too personally. They can't really help being the way that they are and there doesn't seem to be much room for opinions in evolution.

I have recently found it’s more fun to watch reactions when just being blunt at times. I recently got a very blank speechless reaction to my comment in a conversation. I just sat there waiting. All I said was “yes but you and I are slightly different in that you’d prefer to keep following a Marxist way of thinking till people are starving to death whereas I don’t really like people suffering”. It’s just a question of finding the correct delivery.

I use it as motivation to more closely align my income with beliefs. I am often envious of the comfort that must come from being so banal and having nothing to lose by being so.
