Let me ask you this, if NIP-04 did not exist and it was proposed now, would you ACK or NACK?
I would probably ACK because I would think "the tradeoffs are clear and getting to something more robust is going to take ages"
it's just the tradeoffs are not clearly presented to users who are used to only the NSA being able to snoop on their metadata.
Nip-04 is more akin to going to a corner to talk to a friend so you don't bother the rest of the people there, but without forward privacy, I mean, obviously you shouldn't use it to transmit information you want to be kept secret.
Well then at a minimum we agree there is a big problem with how lacking the NIP-04 problems are shown to the users by supporting clients
