when did you first make this discovery? did you accidentally stumble upon someone on the toilet placing bets & it all clicked into place for you or what?

I've been piecing it together in the past months by talking with people. Before I had no idea how common this was.

by people do you mean a representative sample of people of earth or does is skew towards a particular demo or age range or nationality or like .. in general more above or below the median income of somewhere.. etc
